How to Prepare for Your First Betrayal Coaching Session

You have been thinking about asking for support. Then another question appears: “What would I even say?”

Perhaps your story feels too complicated. Perhaps you are worried you will cry, forget something important or be told to leave before you are ready. You do not need a polished account before your first betrayal coaching session.

A useful starting point is much smaller: what feels hardest to carry today, and what would you like help thinking through?

Start with one question that belongs to you

You may have spent weeks trying to work out what your partner thinks, feels or intends. A coaching conversation can bring attention back to what you know, what you need and which choices are yours.

Your starting question might be: “How do I set a boundary without getting pulled into another argument?” Or: “I do not know whether I want to stay, and I need room to think.”

You are not expected to choose the perfect question. If everything feels tangled, saying that is a starting point too.

Make a short note rather than a complete case file

If writing helps, bring a few lines under these headings:

  • What I know: information you have, rather than conclusions you are still testing.
  • What remains unclear: questions that affect your choices.
  • What is difficult right now: a conversation, boundary, decision or daily situation.
  • What I need support with: one thing you would like to explore.

You do not need to gather more evidence to qualify for support. You can describe an experience without sending screenshots, intimate details or private information about other people. Ask what information is needed before sharing sensitive material.

Know what coaching can and cannot offer

At Back to Me Healing, coaching focuses on reflection, understanding your situation, boundaries, self-trust and practical next steps. A Betrayal Clarity Session is a focused private coaching conversation.

Jo does not diagnose or treat CSBD, addiction or mental-health conditions. Coaching cannot confirm that someone is cheating, determine their sexuality or predict whether they will change. It also cannot guarantee that a relationship will recover.

If you need assessment or treatment for mental-health symptoms, medical care, legal advice or specialist safety planning, the relevant qualified professional is important. You can ask whether coaching is suitable alongside other support.

Bring questions about the process

Before committing, it is reasonable to ask about price, what is included, cancellations and how personal information is handled. Review the current service details and policies rather than relying on an old social post or assuming every offer works the same way.

You might also ask: “How will we decide what to focus on?” “What happens if this is outside coaching’s scope?” “Do I need ongoing sessions?” A clear conversation about fit is part of choosing support.

Make the online setting work for you

Sessions take place on Google Meet. Find somewhere you can speak privately, check your connection and have water or a notebook nearby if you want them. You do not need a beautiful background or a perfectly quiet life.

If somebody could overhear or monitor your device, consider whether the setting is safe before discussing sensitive information. Let Jo know about a practical access need in advance, without sharing more personal detail than necessary.

Choose one useful takeaway

A session does not have to end with a decision about your whole relationship. You might leave with a clearer question, words for a boundary or a next step to consider. Those are possibilities, not promised outcomes.

Afterwards, give yourself a moment to note what felt useful and what still needs thought. Coming back to yourself includes deciding which support fits you, not automatically agreeing to everything suggested.

If you are still unsure, start with a discovery call

The free 20-minute discovery call is a chance to ask about coaching and whether the approach fits your needs. It is different from a paid Clarity Session and does not replace it.

If you are ready for a focused conversation, you can view and book the Betrayal Clarity Session. You do not need all the answers before taking that step.
